This sculpture is by Niels Motfeldt and marks the beginning of Self Governance in Greenland on June 21st 2009. The three pillars refer to three main groups of peoples of Greenland: the Kalaallit of West Greenland,; he Tunumi of East Greenland) and the Inughuit/Avanersuarmiut of the North.
The stones were collected from the shores of Greenland. The sculpture overlooks the waterfront and the old Colonial district of Nuuk
