Dateline: Saturday 6th July 2024: Repairs Made and Tested and Back En Route For the Canadian Arctic

The ship's engineers and crew have worked tirelessly today to replace the broken windows, reseal the frames and have the fixes pressure tested and signed off by the Registered Flag Authority. We were able to set sail just before 7.00pm this evening in misty sunshine.  The weather forecast is for relatively low swell this evening and calming as the night progresses.

Our destination after a day at sea tomorrow is the tiny Inuit community of Kimmirut on Lady Franklin Island Canada where we are scheduled to arrive at 6.00am on Monday morning.  After passing Canadian Immigration the rest of the day will be a visit to this community which is famous for its Inuit Arts & Crafts.

We have been told that the 5 days after leaving Kimmirut will be action packed to make up for the delays.

It has been confirmed this evening that our final destination will not be Churchill which is ice bound.  We await further information from Head Office as to our exit airport and flights to Montreal.

I'm still drafting posts on our visit to Nuuk which proved to be far more interesting than I had anticipated.
