It's 13.15 and we are back in Nuuk after a freak 13 metre wave caught Silver Endeavour abeam, breaking 3 windows in the main Restaurant and cracking a further two on the on the Port side of the vessel. The ship lost power and the emergency lighting came on at 1.00am this morning. Power was restored after about 30 minutes and the Captain announced that we would be returning to Nuuk at slow speed to assess the damage.
Currently the damage has been assessed and the windows are being replaced from stock held aboard.
We are awaiting a briefing by the Captain later this afternoon as to when and if the voyage can continue.
I will post an update later today once further information becomes available.
I and all other passengers and crew are safe.
